The Valparaiso Beacons have been solid at covering the spread when playing as underdogs. As a matter of fact, they're 10-1 against the spread their last 11 games. That said, they're still a below-.500 squad overall, with talent levels sitting near the bottom of the conference. Their ATS run has them laying an extra large number—expecting them to cover a double-digit spread is a tall order.
In their last 14 games, none have produced a victory margin bigger than 10 points—and it's been months since their last win by more than 10, which came against the much weaker Calumet College. The Evansville Purple Aces have had their share of struggles lately. However, this matchup favors them stylistically.
